12 km through Oslo with Jessica from Texas 🇺🇸

Jessica is an avid runner, visiting Oslo for the very first time with her family. Oslo was a stopover on their way further north to Alta—with northern lights, dog sledding, and Arctic adventures ahead ❄️✨

After the run, her verdict said it all:

“It was so fun—and I learned way more than I would have on a run tour on my own.”

That’s exactly why I love doing this. Running opens up a city in a completely different way—stories, history, local perspectives, and hidden routes you’d likely never find solo.

Thank you, Jessica 🙏
Enjoy the rest of your Norway experience—and Happy New Year!

With that, we wrap up a long, vibrant, and incredibly rewarding year for Oslo Running Tours.

A huge thank you to all our visitors in 2025—from first-time runners in Oslo to seasoned marathoners exploring the city stride by stride.

2026… here we go 🏃‍♂️🎉

Cloudy Oslo skies, but bright spirits 🌥️😊

Out with Erin from San Francisco, plus Luke & Sophie from the UK – uni friends reuniting on Norwegian soil. Midway pitstop at the Royal Palace (His Majesty didn’t join, though we left space in the selfie 👑), before finishing grandly by the Opera House. 🎭

They teamed up with three more mates who conquered the Oslo Marathon yesterday – clearly gluttons for punishment. 💪

Erin summed it up post-run: “I want to move to Oslo.” We’ll chalk that up as the ultimate five-star review. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Early morning trot through Oslo 🏃‍♀️🇳🇴
Out today with Kerry from Norwich – veteran of the London, Edinburgh and Yorkshire marathons (yes, the hilly one). She breezed through our standard 8 km route as if it were just a warm-up lap.

First time in Norway, here for a conference, and her main observation: “It’s all so clean and tidy!” (We do try to keep the place presentable for visitors).

Safe trip back to King Charles’ territory, Kerry – may your next marathon taper be equally well-organised. 👑🇬🇧

16 km around Oslo this morning with Gregg and Dave – two Crystal Palace supporters on their very first trip to Norway.

A couple of days ago they’d already braved a Palace away day in Fredrikstad (Conference League football, still sinking in), and the day before they knocked out a casual 15 km run up to Holmenkollen and the ski jumping arena. As you do, when on holiday.

Today’s route was slightly more civilised but no less ambitious: the city centre, Frognerkilen, the Vigeland sculptures in Frognerparken, the Royal Palace (crystal in there too), Akershus festning fortress, the Opera, and all the way out to Grünerløkka. A proper sightseeing tour on foot.

Not bad for two lads whose club is usually more used to hanging on deep into extra time than gliding through Oslo before breakfast. Enjoy the nightlife, gents, and safe travels back to Dubai!

Early morning miles with Lon and Zena from New York 🌍🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️
Both avid travelers and runners – but Oslo was a first for them! Great to see them taking on the city side by side.

The cloudy skies made for perfect running weather, and the Opera House was a fitting backdrop to round things off.

Enjoy the rest of your Oslo stay, guys – hope this is just the first of many runs here! 👋🇳🇴

There’s something special about seeing Oslo wake up while running through the quiet streets and along the waterfront.

This morning I had the pleasure of guiding Raoul from the Netherlands, who’s part of RunningTours.net 🏃‍♂️ A global network of local runners, RunningTours.net connects people who love to explore cities in the best way possible — on foot, with stories and local insights along the way.

Thanks for the great company, Raoul — a memorable way to start the day! 🙌

Early morning miles and great company 🏃‍♂️🇫🇴

Had the pleasure of guiding Finn from the Faroe Islands on an extended run through Oslo this morning. We covered also Vigelandsparken, home to over 200 sculptures by Gustav Vigeland – including the iconic Sinnataggen (“the Angry Boy”) and the impressive Monolitten.

Finn is no stranger to the running world – with half marathons under his belt in cities across Europe, he made for excellent company and conversation.

Safe travels to the west coast, Finn – hope to see you back in Oslo again soon! 🌍👟

Morning miles, international smiles 🇺🇸🇳🇴

I had the pleasure of running with Adam from Detroit this morning — visiting Oslo (Visit Oslo) for the first time, coming in from Poland and on his way to Bergen and the west coast of Norway. Despite some light rain and grey skies, we had ideal running weather and great company. Adam runs about 50 km a week and brought that steady stride to the streets of Oslo today.

We also stopped by the statue of Franklin D. Roosevelt near Akershus Fortress — a fitting pause for an American guest. The statue was unveiled in 1950 to honor FDR's leadership and the vital support the U.S. gave Norway during World War II. A symbol of friendship and freedom, it stands as a quiet reminder of shared history and resilience.

Thanks for the run, Adam — and safe travels west!

Cloudy skies and calm streets — the perfect way to wind down after a big race weekend 🌥️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️
This morning’s Oslo city run was with Rachael and Steve from the UK, just days after they completed The Arctic Run — an international race experience of the highest class in Vesterålen, Northern Norway.

With legs still feeling the effort but spirits high, they joined for a relaxed early run through a surprisingly neat and clean Oslo (their words — we agree! 😉). A quiet moment in the capital before heading back to the UK.

Thanks for the great company and stories, Racheal and Chris — and congrats again on conquering the Arctic!

Another fantastic run with Zippel‘s Läuferwelt– and a special guest from Saucony!
Today we welcomed 9 more runners from Zippel’s Läuferwelt, including the ever-energetic Rainer, who returned with a new group after last weeks tour – all arriving by the Color Line from Kiel.

Joining us on this Oslo city adventure was also Monika, Marketing Manager from Saucony, who brought extra running spirit (and probably some extra bounce in our steps too)!

It’s been a joy guiding such passionate runners through the streets of Oslo – we covered sights, stories, and got in a solid workout while doing it.

Thanks to all of you for the great energy, and we hope to see you again – maybe next time on the trails in Oslo’s greener corners!
