I am beyond excited that the amazing expedition company "Bergans Adventure" from Norway, asked me to step-in as a guide on their Greenland Ice Cap crossing this spring⛷🇬🇱
In a time where it is very difficult to obtain the mandatory permit, it felt like a "blessing" to be asked to co-guide their trip this May🙌

Throwback to one of the glacier courses held in Norway in 2023🇳🇴❄️
Here the participants are doing excellently in practising their front - point technique💪 Good and solid crampon technique, is a basic skill that many underestimate the importance of when hiking on glaciers.

Arctic Circle Trail ski expedition 2025, ended up being a very good trip, after we finally got started...💪🇬🇱
We were stuck in Nuuk for 5 full days at the beginning of the trip, due to bad weather/mechanical failure at airgreenland.
Therefore, there were simply not time enough to do the "extended version" of the ACT trip this year, and we ended up on the normal trail between Sisimiut and Kangerlussuaq. However, this is still a very beautiful route, and definitely worthwhile doing⛷🇬🇱
On the trail, there were even less snow than normal, and further many more things were out of the normal for the trip this year. But we made it in the end🙌⛷
As always, Greenland is getting the highest recommendation possible from me, but based on the events of the ACT trip this year, it is very hard to give the new "Nuuk Airport" a positive recommendation.

People were very engaged (and seemingly had a lot of fun at the same time) in building a good campfire spot, on the 6 day ski expedition course held 8-14 January this year⛷🇳🇴

Cold campfire evening on the first day of the "ACT preparation course" 🇳🇴
During the next days the team got thrown into quite a bit of challenges, but that surely only helped prepare them even better, for doing the Arctic Circle Trail in Greenland in March⛷🙌🇬🇱

The Ski expedition course from 1-7 December, started off with indeed quite little snow. Fortunately soon after the course had started, more snow came falling from the sky and indeed made us all very happy❄️🇳🇴🙏The course ended up being very successful 🙌⛷

Sorry for not posting for a while! Was supposed to ski across the Greenland Ice cap this august-septemeber, but due to a disagreement between the "expedition permit office" and the insurance company over some legal phrases in the insurance document, we ended up being denied our permit in the last minute. That was truly a hard blow, but instead I choose to go on a private 24 day solo trek in Greenland🇬🇱 (in the zone where a permit is not needed☝️)
The irony being that I of course ended up enjoying this so much, that all the frustration from being denied the permit for the ice cap crossing, simply went away🙏
I really do enjoy a broad variety of outdoor activities, but I guess if I was forced to pick one, it would most likely be wilderness trekking in the amazing country called Greenland❤️🇬🇱
