Last year we had a very special visitor on the black grouse lek. A female capercaillie showed up on 4 different mornings. Her presence made the black grouse males go crazy. They nearly killed each other, just to get a chance to mate with her. Within those 4 mornings she got mated around 50 times! Our guests got to fill their memory cards hour after hour with insane images of this spectacle. If the mating was successful, there is a chance that hybrid grouse will show up on this lek next year. We can't wait to find out!

Anyone up for a winter photography adventure in Yellowstone? We still have got 2 spots available on our upcoming trip to Yellowstone National Park in January 2025. This area is known for the high diversity and high numbers of wildlife. It is a true wildlife photography paradise. With a snow coach we enter deep into the park, which otherwise is closed off for other traffic. The main target species are the wolf, coyote, bobcat, buffalo, elk and bighorn sheep. But we won't ignore the stunning landscape we will be traveling through. The group is led by and local guides. We already have a group of very enthusiastic photographers who will join, but have space for two more persons. Please let us know if you are interested. Or check out our website for more information.

Our winter expeditions to photograph the musk-oxen are our favourite tours to organise. We have been running these trips for a decade now and they are still just as exciting as when we started with them. Taking a small group of photographers up in these mountains, and seeing how quickly everyone connects with each other while being out in these conditions, is something special. We enter the mountains as a group of strangers and come back as a super strong team. A team which is built on experiences and memories which will stick with you for life. In January and February we take our groups out again to photograph the impressive musk-oxen. The season was sold out for quite some time. But due to two cancellations from two tour operators, we suddenly have got space available again for 2025. We are giving a discount for these last minute spots. Check out our website for more details. The link is in our bio.

We just finished guiding our musk-oxen autumn tours for this year's season. Even though the birches lost their leaves early, the ground vegetation kept its colors until the end of the season. The musk-oxen were very cooperative and gave us plenty of awesome photo opportunities. Now that the autumn season is over, we are preparing for the upcoming winter season. Due to some late cancellations we have some slots available again for our January and February musk-oxen photo expeditions. Check out our website for more details.

Coming August / September we will be back on Svalbard for another two photography expeditions. The first tour is sold out but we still have some spots available on the second tour. Svalbard is a true paradise for the wildlife and nature photographer. In early autumn the sun finally dips down below the horizon again, giving us photographers many hours of absolutely stunning light to work with. Also, during this period the chances of finding polar bears is extremely high. Last year we saw 20 different individuals during our trip! This tour is led by professional photographer and Sony ambassador Floris Smeets. He will make sure that everyone will make the most out of each photo opportunity. During the tour he will give presentations, explaining different photography techniques, teach how to use the light and showcase images to push creativity. Also, he can assist with post processing images. We can't wait to get back up there! Please take a look on our website for more details. Link in bio.

Svalbard has so much more to offer than just polar bears. It is absolutely amazing to see how full with life this arctic area is. It is a true paradise for the wildlife and nature photographer. Next year we will be back on Svalbard with another group from the 26th of August. This tour is led by professional photographer and Sony ambassador Floris Smeets. During our last photo tour on Svalbard we got to see quite a few arctic foxes. We got to see them hunting on the bird cliffs, scavenging along the beaches and strolling around Longyearbyen. This particular curious young fella we met just outside Longyearbyen. He gave us some beautiful photo opportunities! Hopefully we will meet him again next year when we will be back with another group.

Even though winter and autumn flow straight over into each other up here, there couldn't be a bigger difference in how the landscape looks during these two seasons. While there is hardly any color to be seen during the winter, the landscape is exploding in colors during autumn. Especially late September the amount of colors found in the different vegetation types is ridiculous. And it is during this part of the season that the musk-oxen come down to the lower plateaus and valleys to bulk up on food before the snow will cover it all. It is hard to imagine that just a few weeks ago the landscape looked like this, because now everything is covered in a blanket of snow.
