Atlantic salmon in northern light!
In Northern Norway, we have had the driest September for a very long time, and the rivers where salmon and trout should spawn, have currently unusual low water levels. In the smallest rivers and creeks, the fish is often prevented to enter at low water levels. In the creak in the middle of my little village, I noticed a desperate female salmon ascending the river in only 3-5 cm of water in the dark. It was extremely determent and struggled very hard to get up with me cheering behind, and amazingly made it up to first little shallow pool. There it rested on the bottom, and when I returned to the pool after some time, the fish was surprisingly still there. With a carful approach, I manage to get really close without scaring it and photographed it under the northern light for an hour. I froze my legs off, but what an amazing experience in my neighborhood! The morning after the high tide had increased the water level in this lower part of the river and my little salmon friend was gone. (Free to share)

We celebrate Jani's nice Reisa Salmon on 124,5 cm. This was also his second Big Reisa Salmon on this trip.

Congratulations to 3rd time returning guest Ken all the way from the USA! Ken caught and released his PB salmon at Reisastua this week 🌟126cm 45lb🌟 Amazing! Well done Ken you fought and won against our Reisa monsters!!
