This is the official page of the Hurtigruten ship MS Polarlys 🚢 There are unparalleled views from almost every quarter of this stylish vessel.

MS Polarlys was built in 1996, and she is the third ship in Hurtigruten to have this name. Polarlys is the Norwegian word for polar light, a name given to the special Arctic phenomenon we chase in our winter programme "Hunting the Light." MS Polarlys is a stylish ship, furnished with mahogany panelling, polished brass, and a choice selection of Norwegian contemporary art. Together with the extensive use of wood in the public areas, this has created a unique maritime atmosphere.

Another wonderful journey comes to an end. We have seen the midnight sun, dolphins and glaciers. Norway has it all!

Such a beautiful voyage!
We celebrated the national day here in Norway onboard, and we also had our first time this year in to the magical Trollfjord as well.
Starting with summer in Bergen with about 20 degrees, having snow in the north, saw whales, eagles and many happy faces.
Such a good experience!

What a journey! We started in Bergen with a hint of summer with almost 20 degrees, and then we came up north to have -4 degrees and full winter. So during these last 11 days we have experienced it all with the most beautiful days, and also storm and challenging conditions. All 4 seasons in one journey.

We started our voyage in Bergen 10 days ago with -7 degrees celsius and have experienced a lot. Today in Brønnøysund, ten days later we had sunshine and +9 degrees celsius and a real feeling of spring. What a lovely day!

We started the voyage with lots of rain, all the snow was gone, storm and big waves, but it has also been some extremely beautiful lights and colors. Just what we deserved after pushing through waves and stormy seas. Our guest get to experience the full true arctic winter experience.

About to finish a real winter voyage. Started from Trondheim due to bad weather with all of southern Norway snowed in making commuting very hard., but once we got away from Trondheim we experienced a beautiful winter voyage along the coast with A LOT of snow and beautiful colors.
Sometimes we just get very lucky with the conditions and sometimes we don't. But the weather is almost like art, some people like the summer and warm, and some like cold and winter.

We have had a beautiful trip so far heading north from Bergen the 1st of December. Rain, snow, sun, wind and dark. The weather along the coast of Norway is changing fast these days.
Tomorrow we turn around and back back south towards the tropics.
