Aurora Chase - February 18th: Last night was pretty nerve-wracking. First, we had to drive a long distance to Finland. When we arrived, the sky was mostly clear, but solar activity was very low. We knew patience would be key, but what we didn’t expect were the clouds rolling in just as we anticipated the first glow of the aurora. Within minutes, the sky went from completely clear to fully overcast.
Everyone started panicking as we felt our chances slipping away. We drove around, but the bad weather kept following us. Taking a risky move, we turned back. After half an hour, the sky started clearing up again - though still mostly cloudy. Finally, the first glimpse of the aurora appeared, and as it grew stronger, the sky improved significantly. In the end, we were rewarded with beautiful displays!
