TSI Seiling

TSI Seiling Tromsø studentseilforening - TSI seiling Vårt mål er å lage et seiltilbud for alle studenter. Vi har konkurrert i Studentlekene i 2018 og 2019.

Tilbudet er for alle som ønsker mer kunnskap om seiling, og krever ingen tidligere erfaring. Vi deltar på regatta med Tromsø Seilforening hver tirsdag, og seiler på turer med varierende lengde utenom. Klubben er aktiv hele året. På vinteren har vi fokus på å lære om navigering, vedlikehold av båt, knuter osv. Vår/sommer/høst er fokuset på det praktiske! Vi har to kjølbåter på 22 fot. En CB66 racer

som hovedsakelig brukes til regatta og har plass til mannskap på 3, og en gammel Skipjack som hovedsakelig brukes til turseiling med plass til 4 ombord. For å bli medlem må du melde deg inn via tsi.idrettenonline.no og velge Seiling (eventuelt jolle hvis du ikke finner seiling) som din undergruppe. Deretter sender vi deg medlemsavgift. Denne avgiften er på 100 kr. Deretter kan du melde deg inn i medlemsgruppen "TSI Seiling 2021" her på facebook hvor du finner påmeldingsark for tirsdagregatta og torsdagsturer. TSI Seiling aims to create a sailing offer for all student regardless of experience. We participate in regattas and sail for casual trips of various length. We have competed in student championships in 2018 and 2019. The club is active all year around by spending the summer at sea, and having theoretical and social events in the winter. We have two 22ft keel boats. One is a CB66 racer that we use mainly for regattas with a crew of 3, and an old Skipjack that we use for trips with a crew of 4. To become a member of our group you must sign up through tsi.idrettenonline.no. Go to this page and press the "Bli Medlem" button, then fill in the form and select "Seiling" as your sub-group (or choose jolle if you can't find seiling). Once signed in you should automatically recieve the membership fee for TSI, and our own fee, which is 100 NOK. Then you can send a request to join the group "TSI Seiling 2021" here on facebook where you will find a signup sheet for Tuesday regattas and Thursday trips. Follow us on instagram: tsi_seiling

Hey everyone!

One of the members of our sailing club (TSI Seiling) was part of a fantastic expedition. He built a raft to sail from Norway to Greenland. The documentary about his expedition will be screened next Tuesday 7 pm at Løkta (former lighthouse at Vervet). Everyone is more than welcome to watch this capturing documentary!

Some informations on the documentary: Film made by Lucien Hubert, as part of his studies in Visual Anthropology at UiT.

Synopsis:
"The Leeway-25 expedition is a bold attempt to sail from Norway to Greenland on a pre-Columbian raft, reviving a forgotten sailing technique. Over three nmonths, five strangers set out to build something bigger thana raft, a journey of friendship, trust and hope. Driven by a shared desire for freedom and adventure, the wind and sea always have the last word. As challenges mount, a question arises: could this all be a waste of time? Through fleeting encounters and shared moments, the film becomes a space to reflect on time, uncertainty, and how human connections expose what success, failure, and meaning truly are." Rosa, one of our new captains, took Lita out for a weekend trip north of Tromsdalen. We had strong winds and big waves at first, but the forecast improved and the crew kept a great mood throughout 🌊✨
With our furry friend on board 🐶, some fishing the next day 🎣, and a very chill sail back to Tromsø, it turned into the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. Thanks Rosa for leading such a fun trip! 💙
