One-Horned Rhino (Rhinoceros unicornis)

The greater one-horned rhinoceros is a second largest mammal on land in Nepal after an elephant in size. An adult rhino usually weighs between 2-2.5 metric tonnes. Rhinos usually lead a solitary life, but they may also graze and wallow together. Calves follow their mothers for 1-3 years. Females are sexually mature between 5 and 7 years old, while males mature at about 10 years of age.

Despite being solitary creatures, the rhino does share a symbiotic relationship with different species of birds that sit on the rhino and eat ticks, blood sores and even warn the rhinos of danger.

In the image you can see an example of mutual-relationship between crow and rhino. Crow is sitting on top of rhino and feeding on its parasites.

The sarus crane (Antigone antigone) is a large nonmigratory crane found in parts of the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and Australia. The tallest of the flying birds, standing at a height up to 1.8 m (5 ft 11 in), they are a conspicuous species of open wetlands in south Asia, seasonally flooded Dipterocarp forests in Southeast Asia, and Eucalyptus-dominated woodlands and grasslands in Australia.

Sarus cranes have loud, trumpeting calls. Pairs may indulge in spectacular displays of calling in unison and posturing.

In Sarus Cranes the female initiates the display and utters two calls for each male call. The male always lifts up his wings over his back during the unison call while the female keeps her wings folded at her sides.

A Wild rhino walking on the main street of sauraha infront of Ever Wild office during the evening. A short footage.

Wild rhinos ocassionally goes into the villages in search of foods and crops. Inside the villages there are many vegetables and crops grown by the locals which attracts these beautiful animals. The rhino oftenly visits the village in search of food in a peace without harming any locals. The locals loves and respects the wildlife so they never intend to harm or hurt the wild animals even when animals destroy their crops. Also, Thanks to the national park and all the conservation motive organisation which gives some compensation to the farmers whose crops were destroyed by the wild animals.
