Yasaman, hailing from the United States, and Cynthia from the Netherlands, are both avid travelers, but what made their journey so special wasn’t just their passports or the places they’ve been. It was their spirit, curiosity, and love for nature that made the Mardi Himal trek truly unforgettable. We were lucky enough to connect through a glowing recommendation from a previous guest, and when they chose Mardi Himal, it was clear that they were in for an experience that would take them deep into the heart of Nepal.

Mardi Himal, a lesser-known gem in the Annapurna region, is a trek for those who seek tranquility, beauty, and an intimate connection with nature. Surrounded by towering peaks, lush forests, and vibrant culture, it’s a trek that pulls you away from the hustle of the world and brings you back to the basics of life.
As their guide, I had the privilege of watching Yasaman and Cynthia immerse themselves in this stunning landscape. They marveled at the majestic Machapuchare (Fishtail) and Annapurna South – towering guardians that have watched over the people of the Himalayas for centuries. Every trail, every forest, and every turn revealed something more enchanting than the last, and despite the physical challenges, they were always smiling, always soaking in the beauty of the moment.
𝐀 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐍𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐢 𝐃𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫: 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐫
One of the most touching moments of their journey came when we shared a traditional Nepali dinner at the Thakali Restaurant in Lakeside, Pokhara. As the stars twinkled above, we sat down to savor Dal Bhat, Thali, and local specialties like seasonal fruit juices. We spent the next hour and a half chatting about life, culture, and, of course, our love for travel. It was a conversation under the open sky that felt like a timeless exchange of friendship and culture – a true highlight of their experience in Nepal.

Yasaman and Cynthia’s trek may have come to an end, but their love for Nepal and its stunning landscapes certainly hasn’t. Both of them are already planning their return – with Annapurna Base Camp and Upper Dolpo high on their list for future treks. Their adventure with us has only deepened their connection to Nepal, and I can’t wait to see where their next journey will take them.
