Watch closely…
Shuvakali moves her feet so gently while baby Shuvalaxmi sleeps beside her. Elephant mothers are deeply protective and attentive to their calves, often adjusting their behavior to keep them safe and comfortable. A quiet reminder of the beautiful bond between mother and baby

Happy Hour with Elephants

A little selfie for you, while our elephants simply enjoy the river in peace.

At Elephant Care Nepal, our Happy Hour is about sharing moments with elephants, not disturbing them. As they enjoy their time by the river naturally, guests can walk alongside respectfully, observe their behavior, prepare food with love, and create beautiful memories — while always giving elephants the freedom to choose and be themselves.

Peaceful moments, respect, and connection.

Sometimes the best memories are the quiet ones — watching elephants splash, play, or simply relax while you stand nearby, appreciating them for who they are. Take your photos, enjoy your moment, but always remember: the elephants come first.

Join our Happy Hour with Elephants for an ethical and meaningful experience filled with feeding, peaceful walks, river observation, and unforgettable memories.

“Excuse me humans… you’ve been working very hard cleaning my home. Maybe I should help too.” - Shuvalaxmi probably

While our volunteers were cleaning the shelter and collecting p**p, little Shuvalaxmi suddenly decided the wheelbarrow belonged to her. Instead of working, everyone ended up standing there watching the tiny supervisor play with it like it was the greatest toy ever

Moments like this remind us that elephants are playful, curious, and full of personality when they are given freedom, kindness, and a safe environment.

Ever wondered what our elephant bath observation program looks like?
It’s something like this elephants playing freely in the river, on their own terms, with no pressure, no forcing, and no people climbing on or surrounding them.

At Elephant Care Nepal, we believe elephants deserve space, choice, and respect. Instead of joining their bath, we quietly observe them enjoying the river naturally, just as elephants should.

Watching them splash, play, and interact freely is far more beautiful than bathing alongside them.
Sometimes the most respectful way to love elephants is simply to let them be elephant

Happy Mother’s Day to every mother whose love protects, comforts, and stays awake so their babies can sleep peacefully.
While this little one enjoys a safe midday nap, mama stands nearby watching, guarding, and loving in the quietest but strongest way possible.
A mother’s love needs no words. It is patience, protection, sacrifice, and endless care.

Today we celebrate all mothers ,human and animal alike whose hearts never stop caring.

Elephants use every part of their body in the smartest and funniest ways possible even their tails!
This beautiful girl decided to use her tail to scratch an itch on and honestly, it’s one of the funniest reminders of just how expressive, intelligent, and relatable elephants can be. These gentle giants have their own little habits, moods, personalities, and silly moments, just like us.

At Elephant Care Nepalďżź, we love capturing not only the majestic side of elephants, but also the raw, natural, playful moments that show who they truly are when they are free to simply be elephants. No performances, no tricks just real elephant behavior, happiness, comfort, and personality shining through.
Watching her casually use her tail as the perfect scratching tool had all of us laughing today. Nature really is amazing sometimes.

There’s something incredibly relatable about this moment our little baby Shuvalaxmi trying so hard to wake up only to give in and fall right back into sleep, just like many of us every morning
Captured at Elephant Care Nepal, this sweet interaction between mother and baby reminds us how gentle, natural, and real these moments are. The video was filmed by one of our wonderful volunteers, and we’re truly grateful for her beautiful eye in capturing this everyday magic thank you Vicki for the love and patience behind the lens.

Sometimes, even the strongest motivation loses to a cozy nap… and honestly, we understand
