Following the tragic incident on Broad Peak, we made the difficult but responsible decision to put our K2 Expedition 2026 on hold. Some decisions are bigger than reaching a summit. Respect for the mountain, our climbers and human life must always come first.

The mountain will always be there.

Our passion remains unchanged, and in 2027, we will return to K2—stronger, wiser and better prepared.

Today, the global mountaineering community stands united in grief. 🙏🏻
With heavy hearts, we extend our deepest condolences to the families, friends, teammates and loved ones of the extraordinary climbers who tragically lost their lives following the devastating avalanche on Broad Peak in Pakistan.

Mount K2 and Gasherbrum I Expedition 2026 Update!
Our K2 Expedition Team has successfully completed their acclimatization rotation to the higher camps and has safely returned to Base Camp. Now the team is closely monitor mountain conditions, awaiting a favorable weather window for the summit attempt.

Meanwhile, our Gasherbrum I Expedition Team has safely returned to Base Camp following persistent heavy snowfall on the mountain. The team remains safe and is awaiting improved weather conditions before determining the next course of action.

We extend our gratitude to everyone following and supporting our journey.

NANGA PARBAT SUMMIT SUCCESS • 1 JULY 2026 🇵🇰🏔️

Another historic milestone for 8K Expeditions.

Today, our 8K Expeditions Japanese Nanga Parbat Expedition 2026 team successfully reached the summit of Nanga Parbat (8,126m)—the world’s ninth-highest mountain, famously known as “The Killer Mountain.” Their achievement reflects extraordinary courage, resilience, teamwork, and determination on one of the world’s most demanding 8,000-meter peaks.

The expedition was led by the legendary Ms. Naoko Watanabe—the first Japanese woman to complete all fourteen 8,000-meter peaks and the first woman in history to summit K2 three times. Her remarkable leadership and lifelong dedication to mountaineering continue to inspire climbers around the world.
