Nepal experienced heavy rain, hailstorms and high-altitude snowfall in March and April of 2026. One can safely assume that because of climate change historical trends are no longer the norm. While late afternoon thunderstorms in the Spring is to expected, it has been wetter than usual this year. It's a good thing we had recommended all our trekkers to delay their arrival this year mainly because of the Nepal elections. Our first trekker this year, Chelsey, successfully crossed the Thorung La pass (Annapurna Circuit Trek). But as can be seen in the photos, there is a lot more snow this year.
