Machhapuchhre Himal (also known as Fishtail Mountain) is one of the most beautiful and iconic mountains of Nepal.

It is located in the Annapurna mountain range, north of Pokhara, in Gandaki Province. The mountain rises to an elevation of approximately 6,993 meters. Its distinctive twin peaks resemble the tail of a fish, which is why it is called Machhapuchhre (meaning “fish tail”).

Machhapuchhre is considered a sacred mountain, and climbing it is strictly prohibited. As a result, it remains one of the few unclimbed mountains in the world. The mountain offers breathtaking views from places such as Pokhara, Sarangkot, Dhampus, and Kaskikot.
