LHOTSE SUMMIT SUCCESS — 21 MAY 2026

Asian Trekking proudly congratulates our climbers and Sherpa team on their successful summit of Lhotse (8,516m) at 7:41 AM this morning.

Summit team:
• Tenzing David Sherpa with Lakpa Dorji Sherpa
• Chen Tao (Qiangzi) with Wangja Bhote
• Zhang Fangfang with Pasang Bhote

With today’s Lhotse summit, both Tenzing David Sherpa and Chen Tao complete the rare Himalayan Triple Crown in a single season:
• Nuptse — 17 May
• Everest — 20 May
• Lhotse — 21 May

Three iconic peaks in less than five days — an extraordinary achievement given all the delays and challenges we faced this climbing season.

Also special mention to Zhang Fangfang who achieved the double summits Everest yesterday and Lhotse today!

Congratulations to the entire team on this remarkable success.

Asian Trekking warmly congratulates all climbers and team members on today’s successful summit of Nuptse (7,855 m).
This achievement was made possible through close cooperation between Asian Trekking and Seven Summit Treks, who worked together to fix the route on Nuptse.
The three rope fixers who opened the way to the summit today were Ming Temba Sherpa from SST, and Wangja Bhote and Sukra Tamang from Asian Trekking.

Also summiting today were Tenzing David Sherpa, Director of Asian Trekking, and husband-and-wife climbers Chen Tao “Qiangzi” and Chang Huan, supported by Thilen Bhote and Tenjing Bhote. Kristin Harila, climbing with SST also summited today without the use of supplemental oxygen.

This summit is a proud milestone for Chinese mountaineering, with Qiangzi and Chang Huan becoming the first Chinese climbers to summit Nuptse. This also completes Qiangzi’s triple crown achievement of summiting all three peaks: Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse.

Special thanks to Chhang Dawa Sherpa of Seven Summit Treks for coordinating the rope-fixing effort, and to Satori Treks and Expeditions for supporting the rope supply to Camp 3.

Asian Trekking warmly congratulates all climbers and team members on today’s successful summit of Nuptse (7,855 m).
