Does altitude affect your sleep? Yes.
Above around 3,000 metres, changes in breathing during sleep become very common. As you climb higher, you may notice lighter sleep, waking more often, or your breathing feeling different during the night.
For many trekkers, this can be a normal part of acclimatisationโbut itโs still important to listen to your body and communicate with your guide team.
At Everest Destiny Treks, our guides help you understand:
๐๏ธ Why sleep changes at altitude
๐ด What can be a normal part of acclimatisation
โ ๏ธ What symptoms should be reported
๐ง How hydration, warmth, pacing and a good routine can support better rest
The goal at high altitude isnโt to promise a perfect nightโs sleep.
Itโs about staying calm, acclimatising wisely, knowing what to watch for, and keeping your guide informed.
Because at altitude, good preparation and communication matter just as much as strong legs.๐
