Rikshow Day tour Thamel to Kathmandu durbar square and back to Dream Garden

One of the more interesting and good way of getting around inside the cities is by rickshaw. Rickshaw rides are safe and environmentally friendly way for locals and visitors alike to enjoy. For trips that are too far to walk but, too near to drive so, book rickshaw with us and enjoy unforgettable experience in a street legal, human-powered vehicle. In the old city in Kathmandu you may see many examples of rickshaws pulled by bicycle. Traditionally, rickshaw drivers hire their rickshaw which means that they may try hard to get a ‘good’ deal from you to offset their hire costs. You may also find in this respect that prices for rickshaw journeys vary considerably.
the most popular Rikshow drive in Kathmandu is from Thamel all the way goes to kathmandu durbar square through the old Local market Asan/Indrachock/then to durbar square then back to the Garden of dream ,we provide you the wonderful lunch there and drop you to your hotel

HIMALAYAN NEWS SERVICE
KATHMANDU: With operators shutting down operations citing fear of violence, safety concerns and tension at the base camp, almost all Everest expeditions have been called off. According to Mingma Sherpa of Seven Summit Treks, two helicopters were used to get all the logistics and gear down to the base camp. “After the ministry granted permission to collect gear from the Western CWM, also known as the Valley of Silence, climbers chartered a chopper to bring back the load from Camps 1 and 2,” Sherpa said, adding that some have also been tasked with dismantling tents. Most climbers are now descending from base camp to head for home. A few climbers might try to summit other mountains, he added. The government collected US$ 3.34 million in royalty from Mt Everest this season, issuing permits to 334 climbers and nearly 400 guides for 31 expeditions. Meanwhile, Chinese climbers Quingyong Zhang and Geng Zhu have given Rs 7 million to the families of avalanche victims.

Nepal Mountaineering Association urges PM to act

KATHMANDU: Nepal Mountaineering Association has drawn Prime Minister Sushil Koirala’s attention towards issues of safety and social security of climbers and mountaineering support staff after the worst ever disaster on Mount Everest. An NMA delegation handed over a memorandum to the PM at his official residence in Baluwatar on Saturday afternoon asking him to mobilise government mechanisms to support adventure tourism in the country, NMA president Ang Tshering Sherpa told this daily after the meeting. The delegation briefed the PM about the latest development in the mountaineering sector after the avalanche in the Khumbu Icefall region. “Issues including government support to set up climbers’ welfare fund, social and economic uplift of mountaineers, promotion of mountains and increased tourism investment were raised during the meeting,” Sherpa said, adding, the delegates also sought government support to strengthen the capacity of NMA.
