The GSC 2027 brings together science and academia, policy and governance, the private sector, and civil society to turn lessons into action: what has worked, what has not, what can accelerate progress towards 2030, and what should guide sustainable development beyond it. The conference takes place in April 2027, five months before the final UN SDG Summit in September, where discussions will turn to future sustainability agendas beyond 2030. GSC 2027 provides a timely platform to contribute ideas, evidence, and partnerships to that wider process, while also helping accelerate action in the remaining years of the SDGs. GSC 2027 comprises five broader themes, each comprising five topics.

𝐅𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐬:
1️⃣ Lessons from the SDGs for sustainable development beyond 2030
2️⃣ Building resilience through integrated sustainable transformation
3️⃣ Navigating the climate change–development nexus
4️⃣ Health, well-being, and societal foundations
5️⃣ AI, big data, and digitalization as enablers for sustainable development

Ways to contribute:
• Oral presentation
• Poster presentation
• Full panel session proposal (90 min, 4–6 presentations)
• Innovative session proposal (90 min: panel debate, world café, science-policy dialogue, etc.)

We welcome theoretical, empirical, and policy-oriented contributions and especially encourage submissions from outside academia. Practitioner experience, implementation accounts, and civil-society perspectives are as valuable as research findings.

On September 17, 2026, Resources Himalaya Foundation, with support from academic institutions in Nepal, organized a virtual National Science Day 2026 program: “Science for Resilience: Lessons from Nepal’s Recent Flood Disasters.”

Scientists, academic leaders, educators, disaster experts, former officials, and policymakers came together to discuss how science, technology, and evidence-based planning can strengthen Nepal’s resilience against floods and climate-induced disasters.

The event featured insights from Dr Baburam Bhattarai, Er Ajay Mani Dixit, Prof. Anjana Singh, Prof. Janardan Lamichhane, Er Ganesh Shah, and others, highlighting the need to turn scientific research and disaster lessons into practical preparedness, policy, and community resilience.
