Open Message to the United Nations and Global Leaders
A Voice from the roof of the World
Nepal is a land of mountains, temples, and monasteries — a sacred place that holds the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest, and the birthplace of Gautama Buddha in Lumbini. For generations, this peaceful nation has welcomed travelers from around the world who come in search of nature, culture, spiritual reflection, and harmony.
Tourism is the lifeline of Nepal. Thousands of families depend on trekkers, pilgrims, and visitors who journey to the Himalayas and experience the wisdom and peaceful traditions that have shaped our country for centuries.
Today, however, conflicts and wars in different parts of the world are affecting global travel. Airports close, flights are disrupted, and uncertainty grows. As tourism slows, thousands of families in Nepal who rely on this sector for their daily livelihood face growing hardship.
We humbly appeal to the leaders of the world: please choose dialogue over conflict and cooperation over war. Decisions made by global leaders do not affect only their own nations — they also impact smaller countries like Nepal, where people simply hope to live in peace, work with dignity, and welcome the world with open hearts.
Let the Himalayas remain a symbol of peace for humanity. Let the birthplace of Buddha continue to inspire compassion, understanding, and unity among all people.
For the sake of the world’s people — and for the future of nations that depend on peace and connection — we respectfully ask you to protect and preserve peace.
Peace is the greatest gift leaders can give to the world.
