Best Season: Oct-Dec, Feb-May
Departure:

Spring Season, Summer Season, Autumn Season

A remote, beautiful, and little-traveled river that offers the same jungle wilderness and abundant wildlife as the Lower Karnali but at moderate difficulty. The Seti rises wholly in Nepal on the flanks of the highest mountains in the Far West; Api 7132m, and Saipal 7031m and then flows south and southeast to join the Karnali. This is a remote valley, far from Kathmandu, that sees very few foreigners and has only had a few river descents. Although remote from Kathmandu, there is road access to the put in. Local people follow an unchanged lifestyle as subsistence farmers, and are naturally curious and friendly. Rafting:
This is not one of the main-line raft trips and you can be pretty well assured that you will be the only group on the river, probably that season! The rapids are fairly easy class three but the river flows through one of the remotest areas in Nepal with pristine jungle, plenty of wildlife and beautiful sandy beaches.Just superb scenery , beautiful campsites and an excellent away from all river trip ,Rapids are described as relatively easy class 3+ straight forwards shoots with some medium sized bouncy waves .this is comparable to the Bheri but more remote with less people a d more wildlife . Day by day Itinerary :

Day 01-2 : Fly from Ktm. to Nepalganj (1 hrs) & approximately 14-16 hrs. drive to Dipayal capital of far western region and camp. Day 03- : Commence fishinging Dipayal to Budhi Ganga confluence then overnight camp. Day 04-6 : Budhi Ganga Confluence to Seti Karnali & Karnali confluence and overnight camp. Day 07-8 : Raft from Karnali confluence to Todal Ghat overnight camp. Day 09-10: Raft from Todal Ghat to Chisapani rafting take out point the drive to your onward destination back to Kathmandu.(14-18 hrs driver). extra days

Kayaking:
An easy river-trip and well recommended for the intermediate kayaker who wants to get away from everything! Great play potential and a steady current makes it a pleasant trip that will lead you straight into the Karnali and then into the Bardia National Park.If you have any inquiries about river Fair or anything else, please do not hesitate to contact us. Whitewater Rafting in Nepal - An Adventure of a Lifetime
The rivers of Nepal take the traveler to the very heart of the magical land and rafting is one of most exciting ways of exploring Nepal's ancient culture, kaleidoscopic geography, history and unspoiled landscapes. In a country with few roads, it is the mighty rivers that link the villages of this exotic federal democratic republic. We offer a wide choice of trips lasting from one to ten days.

Nepal has a reputation for being one of the best places in the world for white water rafting, kayaking and fishing with outstanding rivers journeys ranging from steep, adrenaline-charged mountain streams to classic big-volume expeditions.

WHY GO RAFTING?
• The rivers of Nepal take you away form the busy trekking routes and pe*****te the heart of rural, roads less, unspoilt Nepal
• Rafting offers an attractive alternative to trekking, something to note if you don’t enjoy walking. It also complements trekking in that you see the country from a different viewpoint

• Rafting leaves no footprints, has minimal effect on ecology and causes little disruption to the social patterns of local life
• Rafting gives you the unique and enjoyable experience of river travel and if you wish, the exhilaration of running with water.
• There can be few better ways of viewing wildlife and virgin nature, than from a boat.
• Note that it is not necessary to be able to swim but swimmers are probably more relaxed, comfortable and safer in this alien watery environments
Best for All Season:
Best for Children and Families:
The Seti River: Nepal's warmest rivers (2 days)
The Seti River rises form the slopes of the Machhaphare. This river extends beyond its warmish sparkling waters and is very scenic. It's a beautiful two day trip. This river is accessible from Kathmandu and Pokhara. Its waters flow through technical chutes and channels allowing our skills as paddlers to grow. It is grade II and III – big waves, challenging holes and narrow runs all ‘wetting’ your appetite for more! The Seti River is in an isolated gorge surrounded by luscious jungle. You can spot abundant wildlife along the river banks including monkeys, deer and many other colorful birds and butterflies either sides of the river all the ways to final destinations. It is particularly suitable in combination with a visit to Chitwan National Park or following a trek in Pokhara Region.
The Trishuli River(1 to 3 days):
The Trishuli River is suitable for people with only a limited amount of time. The Trishuli offers short 1-3 days rafting trips out of Kathmandu and Pokhara, scenic valleys and impressive gorges, exhilarating rapids and easier sections as well as the right amount of time all make it the perfect trip for first-time or experienced rafters. It is even possible to take the best section of the river a single day (option multi days) and return back to Kathmandu on the evening of the same day. The Bhote Kosi: (1-2 days):
The Bhote Kosi River provides some of the most exciting rafting and kayaking in Nepal. It tumbles into Nepal through breathtaking valleys. Glacier water, from the 10th Highest Mountain Shisa Pangma, carves a steep and direct drop at the top that gradually eases to more placid streams and calmer pools within a 46 km run at the Lamosangu dam. It starts in Barbise (3 hrs from KTM) and later joins the Sun Kosi River at a location ideal for overnight beach tented camping. The Karnali River is the last most beautiful and free-flowing river of Nepal.

River Rafting

Better known for its Himalayan massifs, Nepal boasts eight of the world’s 14 highest peaks that exceed 8,000 m in altitude. It contains Mt. Everest (8,848 m), the world's highest peak, as well as seven others that rise more than 8,000 m above sea level. Many people also know Nepal as the birth place of Lord Buddha and therefore an important destination for Buddhist pilgrims. It was at Lumbini, as inscribed on the pillar erected by the Indian king Ashoka, that the Buddha was born. Lumbini also has a number of artistic temples built through international support.

TRIP HIGHLIGHTS

The Karnali river is top ten river of the world.
Epic whitewater rapids combined with relaxed float
Crew favorite
Dramatic variety of intensely remote and pristine scenery
Bardia National Park,

Nepal’s longest and largest river, the Karnali springs forth from Mount Kailash, a sacred moutain in Tibet important to both Buddhist and Hindu. Flowing south into Nepal, it forms the major drainage system for the western districts before dropping off into dramatic canyons raging with big volume whitewater and eventually flowing into remote areas of pristine jungle rich with wildlife.

The first half of this river journey into the “wild west” offers incredible whitewater excitement, commonly described as “a thrill a minute roller coaster ride”. The second half of the trip settles down into some more moderate & gentle rapids and eventually a relaxed float rewarded by dramatic and hugely varied pristine and unspoiled wilderness.

The Karnali River finishes at the famous Bardia National Park – the most jungle in Nepal rich in wildlife. Many consider this spectacular journey one of the finest rafting rivers in the world and is our crew favorite expedition in Nepal.

If you are looking for a truly authentic, intensely remote river expedition with wild whitewater combined with a relaxed and peaceful float into pristine wilderness – then this is the ultimate adventure for you!

Brief Itinerary

01 Arrive Nepal

02. Tour in Kathmandu and evening meeting for Pr-departures :

Day 1: Fly Kathmandu – Nepalgunj 1 hours and drive to Surkhet or Driver to Surkhet form Kathmandu around 16-17 hrsSurkhet (overnight) after a very long drive, we arrive at Surkhet and over night at Hotel. After a hearty breakfast at hotel it's time to head off to the airport for an Hour long flight to Neplagang out in Nepal's “Wild West”. From Nepalgang we board our rafting bus and head off for 6 hours of action packed transportation thrills. We stop for rest breaks, and the scenery as we traverse the Terai is varied and splendid as we climb up the Churia Hills. The true test of a river guide is their ability to make bus rides not only bearable, but outright fun. Ours succeed brilliantly. The road is in good shape to Kalyant and then we have 2 hours of challenging driving to get to the river at Dungeshwar just below where the Lahore Khola comes into the Karnali. This part of Nepal sees very little tourism andthe villages and farms you see along the road are much the way rural Nepal has been for hundreds of years.By late afternoon we reach the Karnali River and rig the rafts, and drift off downstream a short distance to the first nights camp.

Day 2: After breakfast, we drive 8 hours to the put-in-point at Tallo Dhungeshwor. It is a lovely drive through sal forests to the village of Sauli in the seldom seen area of far-West Nepal passing through local villages and spectacular scenery.

Day 3: Tallo Dhungeshwor– First Inquiry

After a scrumptious breakfast, we are all set to hit the wild bend – Karnali. From Tallo Dhungeshwori, it's 200 km tothe next road access at Chisopani on the northern border of Bardia National Park. First day on the river and we encounter wild rapids that continue to take our breath away. After lunch we continue our descent on the Karnali and arrive at First Inquiry, a pristine camping site for our first night on the river.

Day 4: First Inquiry – God’s House

Himalayan whitewater rafting seems truly wild with lots of adventure down the line. Today is the day! Negotiating through the wild torrents, we enter the ‘Jungle Corridor’. This is a narrowing jungle clad gorge and it is all ours. Theskills practiced on the first day will now come to use and when the guide shouts "all forward " he really means it. It is D-day that we were looking forward to on theKarnali and after a long day’s roller-coaster ride on the whitewater, we camp at the sensational setting at God’s House.

Day 5 : God’s House – Seti DovanYet another action-packed day filled with more fun, more adventure welcomed by the tricky waves of God’s House followed by more intricate rapids till we reach our campsite at Seti Dovan.

Day 6-7: Seti Dovan – Jamuna Village
Our guide shouts, ‘Keep paddling hard’. Yes, the adventure is yet not over! Today we experience the best of the west filled with great action combined with breathtaking scenery. After a hard day’s action, we arrive at Jamuna village where we camp. With three days of first class adventure behind us, there is plenty to talk about over dinner.

Day 8: Jamuna Village
Today, we take a much deserved break to visit the local villages surrounded by lush green, pristine jungle with an abundance of wildlife. We camp at the beach and enjoy barbeque pork for our next meal.

Day 9: Seti Confluence
We see the rapids easing off as we come out of the gorge. We pass the confluence with the Seti River wherethe river broadens and the gradient lessens the confluence of the Seti River means that we're past the major rapids onthe Karnali. The lower section of theKarnali is home to fresh water dolphins, marsh mugger crocodiles and gaurials, the giant fish eating crocodiles with the long, graceful jaws. After days of whitewater it's nice to take a rest and watchthe scenery pass.

Day 10 from our last campsite nestled in the rock formations of the lower canyon we drift down to Chisopani, the first town we've seen for eight days. Chisopani isn't much of a town; basically just a couple of dahl baht shops and a damn impressive bridge, but even so it's hard to get re-accustomed to the sounds of civilization. After eight days without any motors, car horns, or screaming children, even a little town like Chisopani serves to remind us just how quiet the last eight days have been. Most people want to crawl back up the river at this point.
Wild life Safari Option: Today is our last day on the Karnali. We end our trip in the early afternoon at Chisopani Bridge and have our last river lunch together, with the Karnali next to us winding its way through the valleys, canyons and beautiful gorges.
After a long week on the river, we head to our next destination –at birda National Park for a peaceful jungle safari deep in the tranquil woods of National park for 2/3days including activities at the lodge nature walks, wildlife viewing on elephant back, Landover driver, boat trips, jungle treks ,birds watching excursions, wildlife and photographing form machans(blinds),slid shows and the services of experiences naturalists
(Safari Option)

Day 11-12

Staying at the Bardiya National Park Lodge and Camp is a great way to finish off your trip. Set in the heart of the Bardiya National Park you have some fantastic opportunities to see the prolific bird life, not to mention occasional sightings of the Royal Bengal Tiger, rhinos and an amazing array of other wildlife. Naturalists are on hand with their seemingly endless supply of knowledge to answer your queries regarding all the species of animal in the park. The lodge is made entirely of local materials and blends in beautifully with the environment. There is a range of activities to enjoy from elephant safaris to jungle walks, to just plain old relaxing in the serene surroundings of the Lodge. Meals are all-inclusive and are a wonderful combination of Western and Nepali dishes. Accommodation is in spacious safari tents with twin beds and separate hot and cold showers. Since you do have to book in advance we strongly recommend that you try and think how you will feel at the end of the river journey and decide if returning to Kathmandu will really be the option that you will want! On day twelve we transfer you to Nepalgang Airport (about 1 ½ hours away) where you will meet with your return flight to Kathmandu. That afternoon we suggest that you spend some time doing some well deserved retail therapy. A group farewell dinner is always welcomed and it is a final chance to relive the previous two weeks with people that do believe you when you explain just how big that rapid was!!!

Day 13(Optional) After a rather leisurely breakfast we take you back to the airport for your return flight.
