Everest Base Camp Trekking

Everest Base Camp Trekking I was born in Solukhumbu, a district deeply woven into the story of the Himalayas. From a young age, I dreamed of becoming a Guide. Namaste!

This is the Everest region of Nepal, where the peaks are not just a part of the skyline, but part of our everyday lives. I am Pema Dorjee Sherpa. From a young age, I dreamed of becoming a professional mountain and trekking guide. At 17, with a heart full of ambition, I made my way to Kathmandu to study tourism and pursue that dream. My journey began like many others in this field carrying loads as

a porter through remote trails and across suspension bridges. With every step, I learned. With every trail, I grew stronger. Over the years, I transitioned into guiding, gaining experience, trust, and eventually leading expeditions to some of the most iconic peaks in Nepal. I have now spent over 25 years working in the Himalayas. During this time, I’ve guided on Mount Everest, led Annapurna expeditions, and summited a wide range of peaks, including Mera Peak (6,476m), Lobuche (6,119m), Island Peak (6,189m), Pachermo (6,200m), Pisang (6,091m), Chulu West (6,476m), Larkya (6,210m), Saribung (6,346m), Tent Peak (5,800m) and several others. I’ve completed all the major trekking routes in Nepal, each of them offering its own challenges and rewards. After receiving heartfelt feedback and encouragement from clients, I decided to take a new step. I founded Everest Alpine Trekking with a vision to offer guided journeys that combine safety, professionalism, and cultural richness. Today, I lead a team of trained experts who share a love for the mountains and a commitment to delivering authentic trekking experiences. My qualifications reflect my dedication to this field. I completed my guiding certification at the Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management in 2001, and later trained as a Mountaineering Liaison Officer in 2010. My mountaineering training includes both basic and advanced courses through the Nepal Mountaineering Association, rock climbing instruction, alpine training in Slovenia, and rescue and high-altitude safety courses with the Himalayan Rescue Association. I also hold certifications in eco-leadership, mountain weather forecasting, GPS and map reading, food safety, altitude sickness prevention, and professional photography. My personal journey has also led me to study Buddhism, which deepens my connection to the spiritual landscape we move through. Whether it’s a quiet walk through rhododendron forests, a snowbound summit at dawn, or a shared story by the hearth of a mountain lodge, I believe every journey through Nepal’s Himalayas is an opportunity to reconnect—with nature, with oneself, and with the deeper rhythm of life. Through Everest Alpine Trekking, I continue to guide, share, and learn. My life is devoted to these mountains and to helping others experience their magic with safety, understanding, and respect. My certifications include:
