Manakamana Cable Car Nepals first cable car, providing services to the Manakamana Temple since 1998. Ltd., a subsidiary of Chitawon Co-E Group.

Manakamana Cable Car is an ISO certified company, owned and operated by Manakamana Darshan Pvt. It is the first Cable Car Service of Nepal providing service from Cheres, Ichhyakamana rural Municipality, Chitwan and to the one of the most important Hindu pilgrimages, Manakamana at Gorkha. m was designed and installed by the Doppelmayr Group Austria, an ISO 9001:2015 certified company and the leading and largest international manufacturers in the aerial ropeway industry. The Cable car station has completed 24th years of operation and provided service to almost17 Million visitors as of now. The station also provides excellent services including parking facility, a multi-cuisine restaurant, fast food, coffee and souvenir shops etc., for the comfort of our visitors. The Cable Car ride covers a distance of 3.01 Km with 34 gondolas, 6 passengers seating capacity each and 3 freight carriers. The system has the overall capacity of handling 660 persons per hour and takes about 10 minutes to reach the Manakamana Temple. The Cable Car service has promoted the Manakamana Temple as a must visit tourism destination in Nepal and around the globe for pilgrimage, leisure, recreation as well as adventure. Consequently, it has contributed to the upliftment of the economy in the surrounding local area of Manakamana and Kurin.

STANDING TOGETHER FOR NEPAL

The recent floods have brought immense loss and hardship to families and communities across Nepal. Our deepest sympathies are with everyone affected, especially those who have lost loved ones, homes, and livelihoods.

In support of ongoing national rescue, relief, and reconstruction efforts, Chitwan Co-E Group is contributing a total of NPR 1.5 crore to the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund. On behalf of Nepal’s first cable car, Manakamana Darshan Pvt. Ltd. has contributed NPR 1.25 crore alongside NPR 25 lakh from Chitwan Milk Ltd.

Our roots are deeply tied to Chitwan, Gorkha, and the surrounding areas where we operate. When disaster strikes these regions, we do not assist from a distance; we respond as neighbours, partners, and members of the same community.

Our late founder, Laxman Babu Shrestha, believed that as community members, it is our responsibility to support the very platform that enabled our business to grow and succeed. That core principle continues to guide us today as we stand with our nation.

We hope this contribution strengthens the ongoing work to deliver immediate relief, help families rebuild, and restore affected communities.

Our thoughts remain with those impacted and the first responders working tirelessly on the ground.
