The Everest Base Camp trek is one of the most iconic and popular trekking destinations in the Nepal,attracting adventures who seek to experience the grandeur of Mt.Everest up close. The EBC trek is a 10 to 12 day trip that covers approximately 130km(80miles) round trip. Starting from Lukla(2860m), a small mountain town accessible by a short flight Kathmandu/Manthali airport, the trek winds through the Khumbhu region,home to the Sherpa people. Trekkers pass through ancient Villages,vibrant monasteries,and forests while being surrounded by some of the most stunning mountain landscape on the planet.
The trek culminates at Everest Base Camp(EBC), standing at an elevation of 5,364m(17,598ft). While you won’t reach the summit of Everest, standing at the base camp of this towering peak is awe-inspiring enough. Another highlight is the optional ascent of Kala Patthar,at 5,600m(18,373ft), offering panoramic views of Mt.Everest and the surrounding peaks.

Rato Machindranath Jatra(the chariot festival)

Rato Machindranath Jatra is a significant and vibrant festival celebrated in Lalitpur, Nepal. This traditional chariot festival is dedicated to Rato Machhindranath, also known as the Rain God, who is believed to bring rain and ensure a good harvest. The festival involves the construction of a massive wooden chariot, which is intricately designed and decorated.
The procession is accompanied by various cultural performances, traditional music, and rituals. Devotees offer prayers, flowers, and food to the deity. The atmosphere is festive with a mix of religious fervor and community spirit.

The Rato Machindranath Jatra is not only a religious event but also a reflection of the rich cultural heritage of the Newar community.
