13th Sagarmatha (Everest) Day 2020

May 29 is celebrated as Sagarmatha Day every year in memory of the first summit of the world’s highest peak on this day in1953.
New Zealand mountaineer Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa made the first successful ascent of Everest on May 29, 1953.
On this day, let us garner pledge and commitment from all to safeguard the Himalayas for a sustainable future of the mountains its people, the rich flora and fauna as well as tourism.
