writes “This is me today, crying at 5416m above sea level. I got altitude sickness. It was difficult to walk for almost 6 hours with an ascent of one kilometre, with shortness of breath , stomach problems, no strength, terrible headache, nausea and dizziness. Our amazing guide Raj, suggested me twice to get on a horse that in case of emergency transports people to the other side of the Pass from where the descent begins.

I refused and with Raj’s help somehow managed to climb the Thorong La, the highest mountain pass in the world. “

Annapurna Circuit Trek with All Nepal Hiking .trekking.

The Annapurna Circuit with Tilicho Lake trek presents significant challenges. Trekkers are required to hike for approximately 7-8 hours on average each day, enduring high-altitude conditions for over two weeks. Mitigating the risk of altitude sickness involves acclimatization, hydration, and gradual ascent.

Day 3:Drive from Kathmandu to Syange

Day 4:Trek from Syange to Dharapani

Day 5:Dharapani to Chame (2,710m/8,891ft):

Day 6:Chame to Pisang (3,300m/10824ft)

Day 7:Trek from Pisang to Manang (3,500m/11,482ft)

Day 8:Acclimatization day in Manang

Day 9:Manang to Siri Kharka (4060m/13,320ft)

70 years ago today, with the successful ascent of Mount Everest by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa in 1953, the Khumbu Region has been a major tourist destination attracting thousands of mountaineers and trekkers from around the globe. In the absence of rules and regulations governing the disposal of garbage generated by tourists, a serious concern over solid waste management issues arose in the late 1980s. This led to the formation of The Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee (SPCC), a non-profit and non-governmental organization.
Along with the social enterprise Blue Waste to Value/BW2V, field research to assess the situation in the area and propose alternatives to manage the waste on-site as well as transport it to Kathmandu in an affordable manner has been conducted.
As a result, Carry Me Back was proposed and piloted as a joint first initiative. When you buy a carry-me-back bag, you are contributing to its production, packaging, distribution, and collection costs. This will result in the removal and recycling of many kgs of waste.
We at encourage our guides and clients to make 0 to no waste in the trekking region. We travel sustainably. It isn’t uncommon to run across a granola bar wrapper on the trail or a water bottle along the trekking trail. If you spot litter while exploring outdoors, consider picking it up safely and disposing of it properly. This time our clients were willing to volunteer to pick up the waste materials they saw on the trails. They collected more than 10kg of solid waste altogether. Imagine if all the trekking companies did this... This is just an example of how much your small action can make a huge impact on our Environment.
