⛰️ Tiger’s Nest Monastery — Bhutan’s Iconic Cliffside Wonder 🇧🇹

Perched dramatically on a cliffside nearly 3,000 metres above sea level, Paro Taktsang — better known as "Tiger’s Nest Monastery" — is one of Bhutan’s most sacred and extraordinary landmarks.

According to Bhutanese tradition, Guru Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche) arrived here in the 8th century, flying on the back of a tigress, and meditated in a cave for three months. The monastery was later established in 1692 by Gyalse Tenzin Rabgye around the sacred meditation cave.

What makes Tiger’s Nest truly unique is the way spirituality, history, and nature come together. The monastery seems to emerge directly from the sheer Himalayan cliffs, surrounded by pine forests, waterfalls, and breathtaking mountain views. The journey itself — a scenic hike through the forest — is an important part of the experience.
