Kailash Manasarovar Tirtha Yatra Begins!
The Standard Overland Kailash Mansarovar Yatra – is a classic pilgrimage program that connects Kathmandu with the sacred landscape of Western Tibet.
After a spiritually charged day at Manasarovar for holy bath, puja, and quiet reflection, the journey continues to the foot of Mount Kailash, where the revered three-day Kora (outer circumambulation) begins. Walking from Darchen to Dirapuk, over the high Dolma La Pass (5,630m), and down to Zuthulpuk, pilgrims experience powerful views, thin air, and the deep symbolic journey of leaving old burdens behind and returning renewed.
Throughout the Yatra, the group travels in a fully supported convoy with experienced Nepali and Tibetan staff, vegetarian meals, first aid support, oxygen assistance where needed, and carefully structured days to manage altitude exposure. Though accommodation is simple and conditions can be demanding, this overland route offers a more progressive ascent profile than heli-based itineraries and allows pilgrims to absorb the unique atmosphere of the Tibetan Plateau mile by mile.
