Repost 7 years ago I reached the top of the world.
Today I value something even greater peace, honesty, and recovery.
Mountains can be climbed in days. Healing can take years.
Summiting Everest taught me strength.
Recovery taught me humility.
Both taught me that no peak is higher than the human spirit.
I didn’t reach any summit alone not Everest, and not recovery.
Deep gratitude to my family, friends, and the people who never gave up on me especially my brother and Ang Dai La dl for the opportunity to climb..

A short update !! The team left at 1.30 am tonight for the rotation to C1 hoping to touch C3. But mid in the Icefall, Chandra started to feel SOB(shortness of breath) and found difficulty climbing and couldn’t recover. He recently had to go down lower altitude due to the notorious Khumbu cough he caught. Unfortunately it seems he hadn’t recovered well enough. Ang had to assist him down to the base camp from the icefall just below C1. Chandra is well rested now, plans to send him further down to recover, come up for another attempt. Rest of the boys and Nishan reached C1 and resting there tonight. It’s snowing up there right now.

Video: Avalanche at around 5ish this morning from Nuptse right in front of our camp..

Bidding a farewell is hard. Had to send Pemba Tshering the duck to Gokyo Lakes to its natural habitat. Here Pasang making a runner to Lobuche so Pemba Tshering can take a Heli flight to Gokyo Lakes. Tshering Sherpa Inn Gokyo Lakes, I hope you take good care and let it free in the lakes.. 🙏

Second duck update. “Pemba Tshering “ is slowly getting stronger as well as popular at Everest Base Camp. Feeding him finely chopped cabbage, honey, tsampa, egg yolk all diluted in water. Once it regains full strength, the plan is to take it to Gokyo Lakes and release it to the wild. Maybe it can catch up its folks during the next migration period.

It’s been 2 days we arrived Base Camp and just got some internet. Nishan Thapa and Prajwol had to go back to Namche to extract Nishan’s tooth that had been bothering him. We had a little snow last night at base camp.

Thanking all the sponsors.

A great team, after a busy day yesterday, the boys overwhelmed by the busy city, had a calm relaxing couple of hours at the monastery getting some word of wisdom by a great Buddhist practitioner monk in one of the monastery and then getting some full on experience at the Buddhist stupa of Boudhanath and experiencing one of the most sacred sites for the Hindus Pashupatinath temple. Today the bus loaded and the boys off to the mountains. Onwards and upwards. One step at a time.
