Our small American group has just reached Limi Valley on foot — from Simikot, through ancient trails and silent passes.

Now, they’re stepping across the border into Tibet, bound for the ultimate pilgrimage: Mount Kailash.

Despite the recent challenges, we’re happy to share that we’re fully prepared for the Autumn season! 🌿

Our Russian group, from Wow Nepal, arrived safely and flew to Bhadrapur today. They’re now heading out on the Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek — we wish them a safe, successful, and truly memorable journey! ✨

Good news for trekkers: all routes are safe this season except the Langtang region. We’re confident Langtang will reopen soon as well, and we’ll keep you updated.

We are back doing what we love! We just welcomed our American trekkers in Simikot as they head toward Kailash via the ancient route.

It has been a chaotic time, and while we are saddened by the damage in Kerong and Rasuwa, we are grateful that most regions remain safe and ready for visitors. By traveling to Nepal this post-monsoon season, you are helping our tourism industry recover. Let’s trek responsibly! 🥾

Nepal Flood Update, Aug. 31, Day 6

Recovery & response efforts continue after the massive flood on Aug. 26 that hit north-central Nepal.

The current flood situation in Nepal remains concentrated along the Bhote Koshi and Upper Trishuli river corridors.

While parts of roads & access routes in these areas have been disrupted, destinations across remain open & accessible.

For travelers currently in Nepal or planning a visit, please avoid the flood affected areas if possible.

Also, please stay informed, follow local safety advisories, & check the latest updates if you must travel through affected areas.

🇳🇵 Nepal remains open to visitors, with most tourism destinations & services operating normally.

A massive flash flood hit Rasuwa District on the Tibet (China) border yesterday morning, causing catastrophic destruction along the river corridor. National authorities believe; Preliminary investigations have pointed to a collapsed glacier as the cause of the flash flood on the Nepal-Tibet border- ice and rockfall in border blocked the Lhende River, triggering a downstram outburst that destroyed homes, infrastructures, and border crossings.

Government agencies and international partners are currently focused on urgent search, rescue and relief operations. While the Responsible Treks team and families are safe, we are deeply saddened to have lost close friends in this tragedy.

We ask for your thoughts and prayers for all those affected.
We will post further updates as verified information becomes available.

This weekend, we swapped guiding for giving back.

Our Responsible Treks team hit the trails from Lapsi Phedi to Jhule — not just to hike, but to clean, protect, and inspire.

Every piece of litter we collected is a promise to Nepal’s trails: 🏔️ Keep them wild. 🌱 Keep them natural. ✨ Keep them pristine.

We believe that small actions spark big change. And we want to inspire every hiker and local community member to treat these beautiful trails with the respect they deserve.

🤝 This is just the beginning.
We’re calling on companies, groups, and fellow trekkers to join us in cleaning up hiking trails across the Kathmandu Valley. Together, we’ll turn every trek into an act of sustainability and regenerative tourism — leaving trails better than we found them.
