Nepal went into lock-down on March 24 which was later extended until 14 June 2020.

Today is the 78th days of Nepal’s covid-19 lock-down, we managed to get a travel pass, and we traveled from home to Eyes on Nepal Tours & Treks office which is located at Chhusya Galli, Thamel, Kathmandu 44600, Nepal for the first time in more than 2 months.

Nepal international airport will resume operation on 30 June 2020 (hopefully not to be extended again) and we wish we can welcome tourists again.

We miss those times where the streets were filled with people, food stalls, colors, bikes, cars, cows, dogs etc.

Here, we shared some photos on Thamel and Kathmandu Durbar Square during the Nepal lock-down 2020 on 9 June 2020.

Mustang is an ancient forbidden kingdom, bordered by the Tibetan Plateau and
sheltered by some of world's tallest peaks, including 8000-meter tall Annapurna and Dhaulagiri.

One fascinating feature of the district are thousands of cliff dwellings, some highly inaccessible. These Mustang Caves or Sky Caves of Nepal are a collection of some 10,000 man-made caves dug into the sides of valleys in the Mustang.

Upper Mustang was a restricted area until 1992. Now, yearly permitted
visitors are kept at 1,000 people, and daily permit fees at USD 50 for
non-Nepali.

This make Upper Mustang:

1) Quite expensive to visit. You need a minimum of 8 to 10 days for a
nice trek.

2) One of the most preserved regions in the world due to its relative
isolation from the outside world, with a majority of the population still
speaking traditional Tibetic languages.
