Today, our solo guest is on their way to Everest Base Camp (5,364 m / 17,598 ft), accompanied by our expert guide, Tashi. After reaching base camp, they will cross the challenging Cho La Pass (5,420 m / 17,782 ft), enter the Gokyo Valley (approx. 4,750 m / 15,584 ft), and cross Renjo La Pass (5,360 m / 17,585 ft), before returning to Lukla (2,860 m / 9,383 ft).

At Mountain Sherpa Trekking, safety isnโ€™t just a policyโ€”itโ€™s part of who we are.

For high-altitude treks like the Annapurna Circuit, adjusting to the elevation properly is the key to a successful journey. Proper acclimatization can be the difference between reaching the pass safely or having to turn back due to altitude sickness.

Thatโ€™s why we recommend an extra rest day in Manang (3,540m). On this day, we follow a simple rule: hike higher during the day, then return to sleep lower at night.

Our favorite training hike? Ice Lake (Kicho Tal) at 4,620m.

By hiking up to this higher altitude and returning to Manang to sleep, your body adapts much better and prepares you for the challenge of Thorong La Pass. As a bonus, the mountain views from Ice Lake are absolutely breathtaking! โ„๏ธโœจ

Our valued guest from the USA reached Dingboche (4,410 m / 14,469 ft) yesterday after spending two nights in Namche Bazaar (3,440 m / 11,286 ft) and two nights in Pangboche (3,985 m / 13,074 ft) for proper acclimatization.

Acclimatization is extremely important for high-altitude treks like the Everest Base Camp trek. We are proud to share that in our 27 years of organizing Everest Base Camp treks, we have only had to rescue two clients. This is due to proper acclimatization, walking at a steady pace, staying well-hydrated and well-nourished, and most importantly, the expertise of our Sherpa guides and team.

Today, they hiked up to Nangkartshang Ri (about 5,100 m) above Dingboche.
