The Himalayas are changing, but their heart remains the same . On this trek, I saw 4WD jeeps now winding their way all the way to Ghorepani, yet just steps from the road, the old ways endure.

I watched families working the fields together, harvesting millet and drying radish in the sun—a reminder that progress and tradition live side-by-side here.

​If you’re planning your own journey to the top, here are a few things to keep in mind:

​Expect the Steps: The road might get you close, but your legs get you to the view. Prep with stair-climbs!

​Embrace the Culture: Stop to watch the harvest. The mountains are the view, but the people are the soul of the trek.

Beyond the summit views, the beauty of the P**n Hill trek was hidden in the rhythm of the trail through deep Annapurna conservation forest .
It was found in the vibrant landscape, the snap of prayer flags in the wind, and the relentless climb of those famous stone steps.

​But the real reward was the sanctuary of the teahouses at the end of a long day . There’s nothing quite like the warmth of a crackling fire and a hot meal shared with fellow trekkers while the mountain chill stays outside. It’s these small, quiet moments that make the miles worth it.

We gave up the comfort, forged a fit mindset, and endured the relentless up and down, only to be stopped by the bad weather just shy of the dream.

We returned safely, carrying the hope of Everest Base Camp with us.
