"Thinking of heading into the mountains? Here’s what you actually need to pack.
No fluff. No extras. Just the real essentials that make your trek smoother, safer, and more enjoyable.

Hiking Boots
Go for waterproof, durable boots that are already broken in. They’ll carry you across tough terrain and long distances. Never wear a brand-new pair on the trail.

Backpack (30–50L)
Big enough for your gear, light enough to carry. A pack with solid back support, compartments, and a rain cover is ideal for multi-day treks.

Gloves
They may seem minor—until you’re cold at 4,000 meters. Choose gloves that are warm, wind-resistant, and preferably touchscreen-compatible.

Water Bottle or Hydration Bladder
Hydration is often overlooked, but it’s critical at altitude. Carry something you can sip from easily and refill often. Dehydration creeps in fast when you're climbing.

Sunscreen and Lip Balm
Just because it's cold doesn’t mean the sun won’t burn. High-altitude UV is intense. A high-SPF sunscreen and an SPF lip balm protect your skin and lips from drying out and cracking.

Wool Socks
These are your unsung heroes. Wool socks wick away sweat, keep your feet warm, and help prevent blisters. Always carry an extra pair.

Blisters, minor cuts, or altitude-related headaches are common. A small kit with the basics—bandages, antiseptic wipes, painkillers, and personal meds—goes a long way.
