Alternative Manaslu Circuit Trail opened | Bus Service to Machhikhola and Khorlabesi Resumes
Bus services to Machhikhola, the administrative center of Dharche Rural Municipality in Gorkha District, have resumed on October 16.
A bus from Kathmandu reached Machhikhola today via Gorkha Bazaar, Aarughat, Arkhet, and Soti. The Jeeps and buses can go up to Khorlabesi. The resumption of bus services is expected to make travel more convenient for passengers during Nepal's greatest festival, "Dashain."
Road repair work has also begun in areas beyond Khorlabeshi. The Budhi Gandaki River flood on October 12 damaged riverside roads in the Dharche and Chumnubri regions.
According to local people and the local government of Dharche Rural Municipality, they said that the road is progressing to open the Manalsu Circuit trekking trail as well. The trail from Lamabesi to Tatopani has been severely affected by flash floods. The local stakeholders of Mancchkhola, Jagat, and Philim have been working to clean the trail and fix the

Exploring the heart of Kumjung village, I visited the inspiring Hillary School and the Visitor Information Center, soaking in the legacy of past explorers. The peaceful monastery and the stunning view of Ama Dablam reminded me how small we are among these majestic peaks.

Every step through Sagarmatha National Park is a journey through the living story of Sherpa culture and Himalayan spirit.

Notice! Important Update on the Manaslu Conservation Area
The Manaslu Conservation Area Project has announced that weather conditions have improved following the recent prolonged rainfall. The regular issuance of entry permits for the Manaslu Conservation Area has resumed from 27 September 2026 (11 Ashoj 2083 B.S.).
However, the risk of landslides and trail obstructions remains in some areas. Therefore, all tourists, trekkers, guides, and local business operators are requested to take necessary precautions, prioritize local conditions and information provided by the relevant authorities, and travel safely.
Furthermore, the concerned authorities are coordinating and taking necessary initiatives to improve trail conditions and ensure safe operations.
