A mix of moments from the past few days, with some groups just starting, some already well into their journey, and others who have recently completed their trip.

The weather has not been very stable over the past few days, but all teams are on track and progressing well. Congratulations to those who have finished, and best wishes to those continuing.

Hoping for clearer skies and better views in the coming days.

Most trekkers fly to Lukla to begin their journey into the Everest region. The flight runs from Kathmandu or Ramechhap to Tenzing-Hillary Airport, a small airstrip sitting at 2,860 meters in the Khumbu Valley. The trip takes around 30 to 35 minutes, and for most trekkers, it’s the first real sign that the trek is actually happening.

Lukla is one of the most delay-prone airports in Nepal. The airstrip sits in a narrow mountain valley where weather shifts quickly, and flights only proceed when visibility is clear and winds are manageable. When clouds roll in or conditions change, airlines ground their flights without much warning. It’s simply how operations work at high altitude, and any operator who tells you otherwise isn’t being straight with you.

Lukla flight delays, what to expect, and the best backup options. Practical tips to manage cancellations, reschedule flights, and keep your trek on track.

𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

As the Spring trekking and climbing season approaches, many of our clients from around the world are preparing to travel to Nepal. Nepal remains open and operating normally for trekking and climbing.

We are aware that recent developments in parts of the Middle East have affected some international flight routes. Our team is closely monitoring the situation and following updates from airlines and travel authorities.

If your flight is affected, there are still alternative routes to reach Kathmandu through airlines such as Turkish Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, Korean Air, Thai Airways, Air India, and China Southern.

If travelling to Nepal becomes difficult or not possible due to these circumstances, please get in touch with us. We are offering flexible booking options and will work with you to review the best solution for your trip.

If you have any concerns about your upcoming trek or expedition, please feel free to contact our team.

We look forward to welcoming you to Nepal for a safe and memorable trekking and climbing season.
