DOUBLE 8,000M SUMMIT. EVEREST MARATHON. ONE REMARKABLE SEASON.
In May 2026, British mountaineer Nakul Misra Pathak took on an extraordinary challenge with Makalu Adventure: climbing both Mt. Everest (8,849m) and Mt. Lhotse (8,516m) in the same expedition.
His guide throughout the expedition was Norbu Sherpa, who has been guiding with Makalu Adventure for the past 15 years and has summited Mt. Everest six times. His extensive high altitude experience also includes multiple summits of 8,000m peaks such as Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu and Mt. Manaslu, along with Mt. Baruntse, Ama Dablam and numerous trekking peaks.
Before heading for the 8,000m peaks, Nakul and Norbu climbed Lobuche East (6,119m), located near Everest Base Camp, as part of Nakul’s acclimatisation and preparation.
Nakul then went on to summit both Mt. Everest and Mt. Lhotse.
And as if climbing two 8,000m mountains in one season was not enough, he also completed the Everest Marathon, a 42km high altitude race from Everest Base Camp to Namche Bazaar.
A double 8,000m summit, a 6,119m acclimatisation peak and a 42km mountain marathon. An exceptional season in the Himalayas.
Now, our Mt. Everest 2027 Expedition is open for bookings.
