Nicky Ellul has successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world.
Ellul reached the 8,848.86-metre summit on 20th May after spending 45 days climbing through the Himalayas following the start of his expedition in Nepal earlier this April.
Throughout the journey, Ellul documented the experience on social media, sharing glimpses of both the beauty and dangers of climbing Everest.
In one post shared just days before reaching the summit, he revealed he was preparing for the final push to the top without internet access.
Earlier in the expedition, Ellul also spoke about encountering human remains in the Khumbu Icefall, describing it as a sobering reminder of the dangers faced by climbers attempting Everest.
More than 300 people are believed to have died attempting to climb the mountain over the years.
The first Maltese climbers to successfully summit Everest were Gregory Attard, Marco Cremona and Robert Gatt back in 2010.
Would you ever attempt climbing Everest?
