🚨 IMPORTANT SAFETY UPDATE – Rasuwa Flash Flood, August 26, 2026 🚨

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the devastating flash flood that struck Rasuwa district yesterday morning. A sudden surge in the Bhote Koshi River — believed to have originated from a glacier-related event on the Tibetan side of the border — swept through Timure and Syabrubesi around 9:00 AM, causing severe damage to homes, markets, hydropower infrastructure, and roads in the area.

High alerts remain in place downstream along the Trishuli River, covering Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, and Chitwan districts, with the Prithvi and Tribhuvan highways affected in at-risk zones.

📍 What this means for trekkers:
The Langtang / Syabrubesi region and the Rasuwagadhi border route are currently NOT safe for travel. If you have an upcoming trek scheduled through this area with Shepherd Adventure Trekking & Expedition, please contact us directly — we are closely monitoring the situation with local authorities and will help you reschedule, reroute, or adjust your itinerary as needed.
