Before his mountaineering fame, Nims Dai served in the British Armed Forces, first in the Gurkhas and later in the elite UK Special Boat Service (SBS). His military career shaped his discipline, mental strength, and leadershipโqualities that later defined his success in the mountains.
Nims Dai became world-famous through his groundbreaking achievement called Project Possible in 2019. In this historic feat, he climbed all 14 of the worldโs 8,000-meter peaks in just 6 months and 6 days, smashing the previous record of nearly 8 years. This extraordinary accomplishment redefined what was thought possible in mountaineering.
Among his most notable climbs are peaks like Mount Everest, K2, and Annapurna Iโall considered some of the most challenging and dangerous mountains on Earth. He also played a key role in the first-ever winter ascent of K2 in 2021, leading a team of Nepali climbers to a historic summit.
