The journey can be completed on foot, or pilgrims may hire a horse and a porter to carry their backpacks during the trek.

After crossing the pass, the trail descends steeply down towards the sacred Gauri Kund, followed by a gradual walk of about 3–4 hours through the flat valley to reach Zuthulphuk.Even those who have hired horses will need to climb and descend the steep sections near Dolma La Pass on foot, as the terrain becomes too difficult for riding.
