Deeply concerning news is coming in from the in , where a massive avalanche struck Broad Peak (8,047 m) on Thursday afternoon around 6,600 meters, right between Camp 2 and Camp 3. All communication has been lost with the 10-member expedition led by world-renowned mountaineer Nirmal "Nims Dai" Purja since the incident occurred.
The missing group includes Nimsdai Purja, five Nepali high-altitude guides, one Pakistani guide (Sohail Sakhi), and three international clients from the , , and . While initial GPS tracking data showed a sudden drop down the mountain face, recent coordinate shifts from Purja's device have provided search teams with a focused target area. Ground rescue teams are currently advancing from Base Camp, and search helicopters have been deployed by the Pakistan Air Force to locate the team.
