Rob Hall was a legendary New Zealand mountaineer, expedition leader, and the founder of Adventure Consultants. Renowned for his professionalism and leadership, he became one of the world's most respected Everest guides. Hall successfully led numerous climbers to the summit of Mount Everest and played a major role in making guided Everest expeditions more accessible to aspiring mountaineers.
Mountaineering Career
Throughout his career, Rob Hall built an outstanding reputation for safety, experience, and dedication. He climbed Mount Everest five times and guided 39 clients to the summit by 1996. The 1996 Everest Disaster
On May 10–11, 1996, Rob Hall led an expedition during one of the deadliest disasters in Everest's history. After reaching the summit, severe weather and delays trapped several climbers high on the mountain. Hall chose to remain with his exhausted client, Doug Hansen, refusing to leave him behind despite the worsening conditions. Tragically, both lost their lives, and Hall's final satellite phone call to his wife became one of the most emotional moments in mountaineering history.
