Today we finally got access back to our company page...it has been an over two-year battle but we are back! While we haven't been able to post updates on our page in all that time, we certainly have not stopped doing what we do. We have run many, many great trips and treks for all our amazing guests. We continue to innovate, explore, build new experiences and make our existing trips better, we live and breathe this, and it never stops! To get us started again, here are some images of what our founder Mads Mathiasen has been up to, just in Nepal, in the last couple of years, we hope you enjoy seeing this as much as he did!

Our Himalayan Trails team participated at one day workshop organised by Himalayan Rescue Association Nepal (HRA) regarding its role and heads up about the altitude sickness.

HRA has been actively involved and is working closely with the locals as well as governmental authorities providing them with free training and workshops on safety precautions, evacuations, and attitude sickness awareness. It’s amazing to know that the aid post established in the pheriche and manang has benefited the locals around the region during the emergencies so kudos to the HRA team.

Lastly a big thanks to HRA Chairman Mr. Hari Dharel for inviting us, Himalayan Trails, to the workshop. Your guidance has been an immense help to us.

Currently our website is in the same state as the travel industry in general, we are working on reviving it, but we are not quite sure when it will happen. We are however keeping busy making new plans for your adventures for when travel is possible again. We are looking forward to hosting you all in the Himalayas when the time comes, till then stay at safe and well!

April would usually see us meeting and greeting travellers embarking on adventures in Nepal. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic our priority has completely shifted and we are now working on ways to keep our valued staff and their families safe and with an income for as long as possible. Our cash reserves will be spent in full to support our team.

We do feel that it's part of our responsibility to assist in this situation and we've been able to get a small fund together to support the crew. We do expect that there will be more need than we're able to cover. We thought we would put this out there, as others have asked the question of how they can help.

So, we're now opening our guide fund to you to donate to. Your donations will go to the guides, in cash. For many families this will be their only cash income during this period. It is unlikely that any government assistance will be forthcoming in Nepal, and certainly not within a timely manner. The focus is on the coming months as guides have had such limited income this year.

This is of course only for those who are in a position to do so as many of you will also be facing hardship and now is not the right time for you. A huge thanks to everyone who has already donated and a special thank you to those who have sent a message to check in, your thoughts are super appreciated!
