Gosainkunda Lake is a holy pilgrimage site located at an altitude of around 4,380 meters inside Langtang National Park of Nepal. It holds great religious significance for both Hindus and Buddhists. According to Hindu mythology, the lake was created by Lord Shiva when he struck his trident into the mountain to obtain water and cool his burning throat after swallowing poison. Surrounded by beautiful snow-covered mountains and peaceful alpine nature, Gosainkunda is not only a spiritual destination but also a favorite trekking route. Every year during Janai Purnima festival, thousands of pilgrims and adventure lovers visit this sacred lake to take holy bath and enjoy the divine beauty of Himalayas.
