Robotics Association of Nepal (RAN) is the only national-level non-profit association that provides an outstanding platform for students and enthusiasts all over Nepal and established to promote, educate, explore, and compete in the field of robotics. Today, this organization has grown to become a consortium of one dozen engineering colleges of Nepal with support of premier organizations like Nepa

l Academy of Science & Technology under Ministry of Science and Technology, Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Lalitpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Nepal Automobile Dealers Association, Robotics Certification Standard Alliance, and various academic institutions and private business organizations throughout the country. Robotics Association of Nepal has not only being conducting the workshops, training, seminars and competitions but is under the constant procedure of research and development which is believed to be increasing the level of association itself and giving them the fresh outputs to be spread to the fellow students. Research and development has been a keen subject for the association from the time of its origin, different subjects like surveillance systems, power management systems, automation, robotics, embedded systems etc has been the chief areas for the research. We integrate principles from all disciplines of engineering in the development of our robots, and provide valuable hands-on design and building experience to our members that cannot be learned in the classroom. The main vision of the association is to expose everyone to the latest advancements in robotics technology by focusing knowledge sharing and hands-on experience through team spirit. It also provides a comfortable platform for enthusiasts to learn more about robots’ technologies practically in order to enchant their engineering skills by engaging in annual competitions the association facilitates, working on group projects, organizing workshops, documentary, presentations and seminar. The association involves itself in a continuous process of learning and exploring the possibilities in the robotics field nationally most of which comes from the hands-on knowledge and experience in building robots.

URGENT: DRONE PILOTS, OWNERS & OPERATORS — NEPAL NEEDS YOU 🚁

On 26 August, flash floods along the Bhotekoshi–Trishuli river system tore through Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts. As of now: 200+ confirmed dead, hundreds still missing, bridges collapsed and nearly 40 km of road destroyed, and major hydropower and substation facilities damaged. Communication lines are down across large stretches of the affected area.
This is exactly the moment the Drone Rapid Response Team (DRRT) to support Nepal Government coordinating with PMO team directly exists for.
We need pilots and drone owners who can help:
✅ Map damaged and inaccessible river corridors
✅ Locate missing persons and stranded communities
✅ Assess bridge, road, and settlement damage from the air
✅ Feed real aerial data to rescue and relief coordinators — fast
If you fly, or own a drone and want it to matter right now — join DRRT.

No drone? Data analysts, GIS volunteers, and ground coordinators are needed too.
When every second counts, we fly. We analyze. We respond. We make a difference.

Industrial Sorting Humanoid Robots 🤖📦

Industrial sorting humanoids are transforming logistics and manufacturing by automating the tedious, repetitive task of sorting items. They use AI, computer vision, and advanced manipulation to handle items ranging from packages to electronics with high speed and precision.

Types of Industrial Sorting Humanoids

Based on mobility and design, they fall into these main categories:

· Stationary/Torso-Only Systems: These have a fixed torso and arms, designed for dedicated workstations. They excel in high-speed, repetitive tasks like sorting parcels on a conveyor belt and are simpler and more stable than mobile units.
· Wheeled Humanoids: These feature a wheeled base for efficient mobility on flat factory floors. They offer a balance of stability and movement, navigating aisles and moving between workstations. For example, UBTech's Cruzr Y1 is a wheeled humanoid designed for loading/unloading and sorting totes in warehouses.
· Bipedal/Walking Humanoids: With two legs, these are built for environments designed for humans, like climbing stairs or navigating uneven terrain. Tesla's Optimus and Figure's 03 are examples deployed in factories and warehouses for moving parts and sorting bins.

The industry is shifting toward making humanoids commercially viable for practical, standardized roles like sorting and logistics.
