Mt. Ama Dablam Expedition

Trip Overview

Situated in the KhumbuHimal en route to Everest Base Camp, AmaDablam (6,856m) is regarded as one of the most beautiful mountains in the Himalaya. In Sherpa dialect, the name ‘AmaDablam’ means “Mother’s necklace”, reflecting the distinct shape of the mountain: the long, graceful sweep of the ridges on each side stretching out like the arms of a mother (ama) protecting her child, and the hanging glacier below the summit forming the dablam, the traditional double-pendant containing pictures of the gods, worn by Sherpa women.

First summitted by an Anglo American/New Zealand team in 1961, an ascent of AmaDablam represents a significant challenge requiring technical ability over ice & rock. We will be using the conventional SW ridge which involves pure rock climbing. The last section to the summit involves ice climbing followed by a long, steep snow slope. Because of the technical nature of the route, 3,500m of fixed rope are required as well as 3 camps above base camp.

The approach to AmaDablam offers climbers fantastic views and a wonderful base camp in a meadow with a stream. From the Base Camp, you can clearly see Lhotse, Lhotse Shar, Makalu, Cho-Oyu &Everest . Close views of Nuptse, Baruntse&Pumori can be enjoyed from the summit.

Normally the climb is completed in less than 4 weeks but we do add an extra few days to allow for unexpected bad weather

Mt. Everest Expedition (North Side)

Trip Overview

Mount Everest, rising to an elevation of 8,848m, is the world’s highest mountain. Named ‘Qomolangma’, or ‘Goddess Mother of the Snows’, in Tibet, Everest was first ascended on 29 May, 1953 by New Zealander Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay from Nepal, via the South Col Route.

Since then, reaching the summit of Everest has become the ultimate dream for climbers around the world. Everest expedition from North side has become more popular among the mountaineers to make their dream come true to stand on the summit of Everest. Due to the many reasons, low cost of royalty and other mountaineering services and uncomplicated route to the summit are the key factors to be a focus for more Everest climbers from North Col.

George Mallory and Andrew Irvine had chosen this route to summit Everest in the year 1924 but whether or not they succeeded still remains a mystery

Jiri To Everest Base Camp
Trip Overview

Everest Base Camp Trek via Jiri assimilates ultimate adventure experiences in Himalaya. Enjoying life in extremes and exploring some of the finest natural and cultural wonder of Nepal is the primary goal of this trek. It begins from Jiri (scenic village located in the Easten Hilly region of Nepal). The varying altitude during the trek leads one from the lower hills to the high Himalaya. While trekking through the Solu area, visiting charismatic villages of Junbesi, Ringmo and over the great Lamjura can be an unforgettable experience.

EBC via Jiri tends to be longer than any other routes leading to Everest, and we highly recommended it for those looking to experience the unique and extreme landscape of Eastern Nepal (including Himalaya), observe and mingle with ethnic tribes and explore varieties of flora and fauna.

kanchenjunga
Trip Overview
Outline Itinerary
Kanchanjunga (8586m) range in the extreme north-west of Nepal is aligned north to south along the Nepal-Sikkim border. Thus, Kanchenjunga, the world’s third highest peak is the most southerly of the major Himalayan peaks and its proximity to the old hill resort of Darjeeling made it one of the better known mountains during the initial phase of Himalayan exploration.

Trekking route of Kanchenjunga is drained by Tamur River that meets Arun below Mulghat. The river is fed by numerous glaciers. The glaciers north of the main peak are clockwise Nupchu, Lhonak, Chichima, Gimsung, Pyramid, Kanchenjunga and Ramtang. West and south of the main peak are Kumbhakarna (Jannu), Yamatari and Yalung glaciers. The Kanchangunga area has a profusion of high summits of which three are above 8,000m. & 11 above 7,000m.

Kangbachen (4038) in Ghunsa valley and Walungchung (3,200m) in Tamur valley are the highest settlements in the area. The latter was an important trading centre between Darjeeling and across Tipta La in Tibet. Access to Kanchenjunga area is road link to Basantapur or through Taplejung bazaar that has direct air link with Biratnagar. There is also a fair weather road from Ilam and traverses Milke Danda. The area is rich with vegetation, particularly variety of rhododendrons
