🏔️ Good Morning & Great News from Everest 2026

The route through the Khumbu Icefall is now officially open.
As of 28 April 2026, the fixing team has successfully reached Camp I, establishing the route with ladders, ropes, and anchors.

This achievement is made possible by the incredible efforts of the SPCC Icefall Doctors, with strong coordination from the Expedition Operators Association of Nepal and support from all expedition teams.

With this critical section secured, rotations from Everest Base Camp to Camp I will begin shortly.
Over 400 climbers are now preparing for their ascent of Mount Everest, along with Lhotse and Nuptse.

This milestone marks a strong and safe start to the Everest Expedition 2026 season.

Recovering a body in the Death Zone—above approximately 8,200 meters—is one of the most dangerous and complex challenges on Mount Everest. At this extreme altitude, lack of oxygen, severe weather, and life-threatening terrain often make recovery operations impossible, placing rescuers’ lives at serious risk.
