City of cultures & traditions, Panauti is one of the oldest in the Kathmandu valley with plenty of temples, public resting places (patis), courtyards, and so forth, most of them are built with terracotta.The entire rural township with its unique architecture proves the craftmanship of medieval time. The town has a lot of festivals too, and some are unique in its own kind. Apart from historic setting of the town, great families are waiting to welcome you to their humble abodes as a part of Home Stay program. If you are looking to know Nepal and Nepalis more intimately, this homestay program is just the thing for you to experience. There can be no better way to get a deeper insight into the Nepali psyche and gain a better understanding of the local customs. But, keep in mind that you certainly will not get the kind of modern facilities you might be used to back home, or the amenities that star hotels provide, you can most definitely look forward to being welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality. All these Home Stays are run by the by the women for the women. “Panauti Community Homestay” is their initiative to empower all the womens of the town. It is really not so hard to get to Panauti. You just go to Old Bus Park and hop into a local bus and it will directly take you to the town in an hour or so and this won’t cost you much, too. If this seems really a difficult task for you just contact us and we will arrange a private transfer for you.

🇳🇵 Panauti Community Homestay – A Small Contribution for Bhotekoshi Flood Relief

The recent Bhotekoshi River flood has affected many families and communities, leaving people facing a difficult and uncertain time.
As a small gesture of support, Panauti Community Homestay has contributed NPR 56,000 towards the flood relief efforts. We hope our contribution can provide some help to those affected and support the ongoing relief work.
Our heartfelt thoughts and best wishes are with all the affected families. May everyone remain safe and strong, and may the affected communities recover and rebuild soon.

We were happy to share the message that everyone should keep their homes, surroundings, and roads clean and tidy. A clean environment creates a healthier and more beautiful community for all.

At Panauti Community Homestay, our days are filled with hard work, dedication, and the shared responsibility of welcoming guests into our homes. The women of our community give their heart and energy every single day , supporting their families, supporting each other, and keeping our homestay experience meaningful and authentic.

But even the strongest hearts need moments of rest. 💛
This small trip to Sukute was more than just a break — it was a reminder of the importance of joy, togetherness, and taking time to breathe. Spending a day by the river allowed us to laugh, relax, and reconnect not only with nature, but with one another.

We believe that unity makes our community stronger. Moments like these strengthen the bond between the women who work side by side every day. These recreational activities bring us closer, refresh our spirits, and remind us that we are not just a team - we are a family.
