"Shravan Somwar"; A Hindu Religious Worship 🕉️
The month Sawan is almost around the corner. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and holds a special significance in Hinduism. The month is also known as the month of Shravan. Sawan, the fourth month of the Hindu calendar, falls during the month of July-August. Monday is the day, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva and observing fast on Mondays in the month of Sawan is considered to be highly auspicious. The word ‘Somwar’ originates from the Sanskrit word ‘Soma’ means Chandra, the Hindu deity Moon and Lord Shiva wears a crescent moon on his forehead that is why Lord Shiva is known as 'Someshwara'.Also, they worship Goddess Parvati for a better, more peaceful and prosperous life.
Many local devotees visit Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave to offer their prayers to Lord Shiva and seek his blessings.
