The “Dhaulagiri Icefall Trek” has been identified as an excellent alternative to the world-renowned Round Annapurna Trekking Route. Under the leadership of the Former Chairman of TAAN Gandaki, Mr. Som Bahadur Thapa, and coordinated by former Secretary General Mr. Narayan Prasad Sapkota, a historic field study, research, and survey of this trekking route were successfully conducted from Jestha 23 to 29, 2068 B.S. (June 2011).

The survey covered the route starting from Galeshwar, Piple, Rakhu, Ruise, Rimang Chaur, Bokshi Kharka, Panja Khelne Danda, Sewang Dhuri, Gaira Kharka, Loso Chok, and Dahbuki, and Chimkhola in Myagdi District, extending up to Kalopani in Mustang District. This study has made a significant contribution to establishing the “Dhaulagiri Icefall Trek” as a viable and effective alternative to the Round Annapurna Trek.
