My name is Arjun Adhikari, I am born in Nepal and I have been a guide i Nepal, showing people the beauty of the untamed lands of Nepal

As a tour guide I spend more time on the slopes of Himalayas than with my friends back in my hometown Pokhara. As a trekking guide, we have always loved sharing stories of great mountaineers from around the world with the people we guide. But as a Nepali, there were only a handful of names that made me feel truly proud to tell.

Then came Nims Dai.

He didn’t just climb mountains—he changed the way the world looked at Nepali climbers. From that moment on, we had another incredible story to share, a story of courage, determination, and the unbreakable spirit of Nepal. Every time we spoke about him on the trail, we felt proud that someone from our small Himalayan nation had inspired the entire world.

Whatever challenges the mountains bring, legends like Nims Dai never disappear. His achievements, his passion, and the inspiration he gave to countless climbers and guides will continue to live on in every story we tell beneath these peaks.

As long as we keep sharing his journey with trekkers from around the world, his spirit will always remain alive in the mountains he loved.

Rest in peace, Nims Dai, Yukta, and Nima Sherpa and all the mountainers who lost their lives at broad Peak, Pakistan.You may have left these mountains, but your stories will continue to echo through them for generations to come
